Hello,

I have a 4200 series external SCSI drive enclosure.
I currently have it set up as an Array 5 hot plug with 14 18.2 ultrawide drives.
I have one drive that is completely out "No lights".
I tried swapping it out and the new drive gives me an amber light "bad".
On the external closure I have a flashing Enclosure Status light "amber".
When I go into the disk config. the array shows that slot doesn't exist.
Can you help with this.

thanks

Your SCSI backplane on the enclosure has a failed port, look into replacing it. To try a workaround upgrade the controller firmware and see if the issue is resolved. if that is not the issue, replace the SCSI backplane.

Replaced the backplane resolved the problem. thanks

No Problem, glad to be of service. If you have anymore questions don't hesitate to ask.
