what type of norstar

OLD ROLMEN WORKING ON NORTELS

Gregresh, there are several different Norstar flavors, so you need to know which one you have.
For the older 6x16 and 3x8 KSU's, use the VIOLET/ORANGE Pair.

For the 8x24 KSU, use the VIOLET/ORANGE pair of the second AMP. cable (Line ports and Aux. Equip)

For the CICS KSC, use the VIOLET/SLATE pair on the left side Amp. cable.

For the MICS, use the BLUE/SLATE pair on the middle Amp. cable.

while we are on the topic does the mics have multiple pairs for paging or a N.O contact someplace?? I cant seem to find any other than noted in the thread (samsung spoiled me) any help would be great.

Nortel has 1 output pair for page and a relay if needed. I dont know what you mean by "N.O contact”. As with any system, you could also use the CO ports.

bkrike thanks for the input is there any way to turn on or off the relay if needed? and N.O Normaly Open contact or a make/break contact is what I was getting at. Oh and the co port thing works great but the customer does not like to press more than one button to page or send out a warble tone. The latter is what I need the N.O relay for. Anyhoo thanks again for the help and if I can help you some time you know were to find me :)

The relay is controlled via AUX RINGER its not controlled by paging.
