I have a nortel bcm 400, v3.7 and I'm try to set up a phone number where folks in the office can call extension XXXX and it will ring two office extensions, then my cell phone. I guess a Linear hunt group is appropriate for this. So, the question is how can I make my cell last on the hunt group? It looks like only DNs can be added as HG members and overflow.
Aside: I tried using an inactive DN to forward all calls to my cell, but when I dialed the number, it says "Not in service". I would like to not have to hook up another phone set for this.

Thanks in advance for any help.

You can't... Well, that's not true.. If you have the overflow of the hunt group to a VALID internal extension, then you can "call forward all" that extension to your cell phone, then viola.. Mission accomplished...

Remember, only in service extensions that have a valid physical phone attached can be used to forward to an external number....

You could always use a spare IP client licence with the keep DN alive option enabled and forward that

You could use an Analog port as well..

A lot of people will take a digital set and plug it into a port, then set CFA and then unplug the set. This will work for a short time, but eventually the system will realize there is no device on that port and stop the forwarding.

Even though a PRI attached to a BCM can set up and break down an activated extension's External Call Forward (Allow Redirect) on the PRI without using additional channel resources at the BCM end, it's not Tariffed yet for provision. (see MEGACO routing)

Why not have each extension go to the Call Pilot voicemail after X Rings and provide the Cell phone transfer as an OUTBOUND TRANSFER?

"If you prefer not to leave a message and require immediate assistance, Press 7 and your call will be transferred to..."

Because a hard forwarded call, or Line Redirect via the target line provides initial caller CLID. Also using the VM transfer option opens yourself up to hacking.
