So I've got our to be Exchange 2010 box up and going and connected to our current Exchange 2003 SP2 box. Mail is flowing just fine between the two and all.. Using this link: I'm trying to get NDR's, particularly for 5.7.1 message, to be copied to the internal address of postmaster@ourdomain.com. I've followed the instruction word for word so I'm out of ideas. I can telnet to my edge box and send an email to any user in our domain, including the postmaster. However, whey I telnet to it and generate a message that produces the 5.7.1 (blocked by spam filter) no NDR ever shows up. I've tried other DSN's like 5.1.1 and get the same result, no NDR shows up.
My edge box show's the proper ExternalPostmasterAddress along with the correct GenerateCopyOfDSNFor digits. My Hub shows the proper DSN's as well under the global Transport policy.
I'm out of ideas...I had this working before way back in the day with the demo version of Exchange 2007, but no go with Exchange 2010.
You guys got any ideas on what I might be missing here? Something that's not documented in the help files on technet?
