External modem for Lucent Guestworks

Hi,

I have Avaya(Lucent) guestworks G3V6. I tried connecting a external modem to the system to the DCE port. the modem did not answer, even after programming the "sys maintenance" for modem connection to be external it did not work.

Can you help.

BTW, the AUX port INADS did not work. That is the reason why i was trying to use this option.
