I have Exchange 5.5 running on NT with a ADSL SMTP feed.

It basically works and staff can send and recevie external mail.

BUT this does not work for all external addresses. It's stopped sending mail to various domains (eg. Freeserve addresses) with the error "Host unreachable". Can not work out why it's working for some domains and not others.

Anyone got any useful ideas?

Perhaps you've landed on MAPS' RBL (Realtime Blackhole List). Any ISP that subscribes to their 'service' (I use the term loosely) will not be able to get e-mail sent from your server, as somebody has reported you to be a spammer, or perhaps your server setup allows relays. At any rate, you can check their database at to see if you're on it. Marc Creviere
