Does anyone know if you can get external loud ringers for cisco ip phones? We used to have bells connected to our old analog phones in the factory, so that you could hear the phone if you were not in the office. I have tried connecting the bells to a cisco ata186 with the same extension number as the phone. The theory being that the phone and bell should both ring, unfortunately not. Any advice or products available would be greatly appreciated.

Is it that the ATA is not indicating an incoming call, or are the bells simply not ringing? In other words, if you plug a standard analog set into the ATA, do you hear it ring? If so, then it sounds like the ATA can't deliver enough REN to power your bells, in which case you might try one of a dozen different powered ringers like the ameriphone sr200, etc.

Thanks for the advice. I do get a ringtone when I plug in a normal phone. Looks like I will need to buy some new bells.
