My Lacie external drive doesn't seem to be mounting on its own, and when I used the disk utility to verify or repair the drive the process fails and I get some error message abouts not being able to fins its nodes or some such.

My problem is that this is my back up drive, and I rebuilt my MacBookPro, and didn't restore it all yet....

Is there a way I can rescue this data?

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Apple's own Disk Utility is limited. Try DiskWarrior, Drive Genius, Drive 10 (commercial apps) or any other advanced disk tool.

Thanks - I'll look at those when I get home.

Disk Warrier has sorted it completely, and I don't think I've lost a single thing. Great product! Thanks guys.
