I know there are a few third party software solutions to allow this, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to allow users the ability to access the outside world with Exchange IM. Currently, anyone here who needs external IM is using Trillian, along with Exchange IM. It would be nice (and easier on resources) if we could cut this down. Thoughts?

This can be done with Exchange on it's own. I can't for the life of me remember how ... it was part of the revision for the Exchange 2000 MCP exam. It's involves have an IM Routing server on the outside of your firewall and opening up the corret ports on the firwall.
