I just bought a I/O Magic 320gb External Hard Drive. I plug the drive into my USB 2.0 hub and all seems well until I start trying to transfer files over to it. Text files? no problem. Pictures? not a problem as well. MP3's? thats the problem. When you try to transfer lets say 10 music files at a time it just chokes. 1st mp3 copies alright but after that your talking slow. When you try to delete the files after this it just hangs up. I thought maybe it was the files themselves so i tried different ones and got the same results. So next thing I did was plug it directly into my USB 2.0 pci card and got the same thing. Then I plugged it into a USB 1.1 slot on the motherboard and the files copied all be it slower then usb 2.0 but they copied and the drive never choked. I'm boggled as to the reason why it would run fine plugged into a usb 1.1 slot and choke in a 2.0 slot? Could it be the enclosure? or is there something else going on?

Have you looked for updated drivers for the USB 2.0 PCI card on the card manufacturer's website?

Actually, I took out the HDD and popped it into another enclosure. Voila! it seems to be working just fine. Looks like it might indeed be the enclosure so I guess I'll be making the trek out to the store and grab me another enclosure.
