We have moved an acquisitions email server (Exch2K SP3) to our corporate office. We have a Symantec firewall setup the same as our own for this email server with its own public ip. External DNS and MX record are setup properly. Can resolve the mail.domain.com from the web.

We can send internal email, receive internal email, receive external email, but can not send external email.

I looked at MS and only found
and a few similar but this does not pertain to our setup.

Any ideas would be welcome.
thanks

What is the exchange server using as a DNS server, and can it resolve external addresses?

Might try telnetting to port 25 on an external mail server to see if it's a firewall issue. You should do this from the exchange server also.

Are you getting Non-delivery reports? If so, what do they say?
