Hi All

Wondering if you could help.

I have a Iomega Super DVD RW drive (External USB) and when I first got it it worked perfect now I can not seem to copy DVD's (Though it will read DVD OK)

I have the following 2 main problems

1> In Nero 7 (Or any other copy program I have tried) I can read a Disc but when I put the blank in I get a progress bar saying waiting for drive to become ready, I have left this for over 2 hours and it will not work. If I click cancel it starts the cpy process gets to 2 % and I get "Can not preform start of disc"

2> in windows if I enter a blank disc I get G:\ is not accessible
Incorrect function, I used to be able to open it and send files to it to burn.

If you need more info let me know, I think I am quite good with computers but this has me baffled, hope someone out there can help.

Try different media brands.

If no luck, then clean the lens.

If still no good, then see if the drive works in another system.
If not, then it's probably bad.

Hi Again

Just borrowed a laptop and tried the drive and it worked. I have noticed that on my computer windows is not showing the drive as a DVD R it just says DVD drive could this be a problem.

Anyone know where I can get a updated drier as the Iomega website does not have any for windows XP?

Cheers

From the Iomega site:
"Drivers are not required to be downloaded. All necessary drivers are included in Windows XP. This means that your drive will be detected as a DVD-ROM drive unless DVD/CD burning software is installed. If supported by Windows XP, you may be able to burn CD's using the Windows XP built-in burning software.
Iomega HotBurn Pro will work in Windows XP. If you are a current Iomega HotBurn Pro customer, updates are available on our web site."

See if uninstalling and reinstalling the HotBurn Pro software helps. Note that the drive has to be disconnected before reinstalling HotBurn Pro.

If no luck, then check this site for a HotBurn Pro patch, and firmware updates for Super DVD drives:

Fixed!!!!

I installed the Hotburn Pro program and copied a (Rather large) avi file to DVD and it worked.

Have a star wish I could give more, thank you so much for your help :)
