Please advise me on the various methods to divert a DID (DDI) number back to the outside world i.e. a mobile, another DID number or international destination.

The solution mentioned so far has indicated that we need both a hardware position with a phone plugged in - is this genuinely the case?

Is there nothing else we can do we the call routing, could we change the numbers to a hunt group and then divert?.. Something else?

I am more familiar with a different manufacturer so any help GREATLY appreciated.

Cheers
Al

COuldnt you set an adjunct to that DID number and forward that adjunct to the outside number?
Will this number change?

LOL, Sorry, thought I was in LEgend thread. '

That s correct, on Partner, you need the phone to be physically forwarded to the external number for it to work.

And there are NO alternatives ???.. Nothing creative that can be done with this system?

Can the same be applied to an analogue handset? can one Digital handset have multiple numbers with the diverts on those (a key for each of the lines)

Hi Al,
The Partner is the bottom of the line for Avaya. I think it does very well for that. There are always bigger systems and they do more. That's the way it works.

Having a physical phone forwarded does not seem like such a hardship to me. It can exist in the phone room for that matter. This feature will use two lines for every call, as it would for any system.

Thanks for your advise.. Under normal circumstances a physical phone would not be an issue, but we are in a transistional stage.

We have added a new site with an Ericsson MD110 and users there need to recive their DDI calls from the old Office (new office has new DDI range). However their actual hardware (phones) have been re-allocated and re-used.

In time the Old office will have and Ericsson added and it will from part of the same system, thus overcoming the external diversion issue.

I guess i take the power of these bigger systems for granted!!.. thanks again for your advise.

QUESTION - Could the digital phones be changed to analogue, and can analgue phones then have an external divert applied?

Cheers
Al

Hi Al,
The Partner ports are ETR (Extended Tip Ring). They will run either phone type. I haven't tried to forward an SLP phone outside, but I see no reason why it would not work. Feature 11 is # 11 on an SLP phone.

O.K. Thank you.

What is "Extended Tip Ring" and an SLP Phone ??

Enhanced Tip Ring means that the port will run a multiline phone AND/OR a single line phone (SLP)

From Ext. 10 or 11, you can program the Personal Speed Dial for ANY extension, and from ANY phone you can set the call forwarding for ANY other phone.

So....As long as you have the station cards installed in your system, you don't need a phone plugged into them, just allow them the remote call forwarding feature, put the destination number into a personal speed dial location, and forward the extension. Probably put a piece of tape across the port to keep someone from thinking the port is available for use, and accidently blow the whole diversion scheme.

That's great thanks for your help !!!!

Cheers
