Hi,

I have an E/// external dect system with A/B protocol.
There are 2 SLU cards in it. Many times users experience that they cannot call and cannot be called. It´s caused by the capacity.
I know that a base station can handle 8 simultanous conversations. But is there a limit for the SLU card?
I heard from an E/// guy, that it is 8 also, but can be extended with a .... card.

Could you make it clear to me?

Thanks very much

Hi EMG,
There are two boards handling a call - SPU and CLU.
Each SPU or CLU board provides for 8 speech circuits.
Having 2 SPU and 2 CLU installed, a maximum of 16 simultaneos calls can be handled. To encrease the number of simultaneos calls you have to encrease the number of SPU and CLU boards.
Greetings

Thanks DUFQI!

Quite clear.
Let´s say I´m buying 2 new SLU cards.
Is it recommended to move some of the existing base stations to new cards or not necessary?

Thanks

Hi EMG,
As SPU and CLU or SLU are only containing 8 SPCs (Speed Processing Units)they are the bottleneck.
Buying two SLUs you have to move basestations to these SLUs.

Hi EMG,
befor buying new SLUs I would ckeck my installation.
In areas with high call traffic you need basestations on different SLUs - for example 1 SLU > 2 basestations = 8 speechchannels - 2 SLU > 2 basestations = 16 speechchannels.
Think about that

The SPU channels (on SLU boards) are common for the whole system, they are not dedicated to base stations connected to the SLU board.
