Has anyone ever heard of a set compatiblity issues when using some of the early versions of M7310 with External Call Forward? The sets are from the original install, back when DR2 on a 8x24 was new stuff. Since then we have upgraded the system to 0x32 w/R1T1 and now MICS 5.0. I have programmed Ext Fwd MANY times w/o issues but now have issues on SOME of the older phones. The sets in question will not allow the third digit of the 'fwd to number' AFTER the dest code, to be entered. Allow Redirect=Y and Routing & Dest code is programmed correctly, as it does work from other newer sets. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have not heard of this yet, does the set have access to the line pool for that route? and why don't you just set it up so 9 is your dest code and so it is system wide to get an outside line by dialing 9 and call forwarding.

The only problem that I have run across from a lot of callers is they forget to have the lines supervised. But you know how to set it up and all so I wouldn't think it would be a problem.

I haven't had anyone say that a particular phone prevented using the external call forwarding. MRoberts

I've just come across something similar on an install today.

I'm upgrading a 6X16 (DR5) to a MICS 5.0 - they are reusing their older M7310's and M7324 (release 7 and 10).

The problem I am having is with hunt groups. This company upgraded to MICS 5.0 so that they could have DID's.
Some of the phones have both the company's main lines ringing on them as well as their own personal DID's. They want the DID's to go to their mailboxes after 4 rings and the main lines to ring until the cows come home.

I have come across this scenario before and just assigned the lines to a hunt group and input the required members. (because hunt groups are not affected by call forwarding) This worked like a charm with new T series sets and a new M7324.

HOWEVER... at this location - the member extensions in the hunt group do not ring even though the appropriate lines are assigned.

I know that on the M7310 - it wasn't until after release 17 that you we able to assign an extension (Feature*2) and visually see when that extension was in use.

It could be that these are some more limitations of the older sets. Anybody else come across something similar or am I just grasping at straws? [ponder]

forgot to report the results: i found a conflict with the dest code, changing the dest code solved the issue. i wasn't thinking....%-) dueE

Lowradiation:

Did you remove the line appearances of the trunks that you put into the hunt group? even an appearance only of a line on a phone can cause that phone to not ring on a hunt group when a line rings in that appears on the phone. JerryReeve

I do have the lines set to 'appear only' on the phones in the hunt group and the hunt group members set to 'ring only'.
BUT... I did the exact same thing on another install and it worked fine - the only differences are the previous install had T series phones and an earlier working issue of MICS 5.0.

I just set it up and tried it here. I have MICS 4.1 and M series phones. if the phone had any appearance of the lines that the hunt group has assigned to it the phone does not ring. when I pulled the line appearnaces the hunt group rang fine. Why don't you try pulling line appearances on one phone and see if it rings? JerryReeve

Jerry, you're right. The phones started ringing right after I removed the line appearances. The only thing is now they have to park (too confusing for some people) [wink] or transfer a call instead of putting it on hold and paging "Call on line 1" - something that they had always done with the 6X16
Have you tried the same scenario with T series phones? - I am thinking that they are the difference.

they could still place the call on hold and announce that the call is on hold on the line that is identified in the display. the only people that can pick that call up are the ones that have the appearance on the phones though. JerryReeve
