Hello,

We have Mitel CXi with 3 PSTN trunks. The customer said that they got complain from their client due to the client unable to hear clearly.
I check the trunk directly by plug to analog phone, it seems to be loud and clear, however when we make outgoing call using Mitel IP Phone on one of the extension, the sound heard by the external party is a bit soft.

Just wondering is there any setting to make it louder or amplify the volume so that external party can hear loudly?

Thank you.

Run the Line Quality Test to get the proper Trunk Circuit Descriptor settings.

If you feel that your test POTS phone was ok, maybe try swapping out the hand set from the IP phone with another one.

Not sure if you are using headsets either, but had a weird problem with one staffer with the same situation as you. Turned out the batteries were dead, but not dead enough to send the beep sound to the head set wearer

Try placing the analog set on the system instead of directly on the trunk.

Same Problem? or Not.

Do All phones have the issue or Some or One?

Are there any Add-Ons to the set, Headsets, Wireless handsets, PKMs?

Is the set powered directly from the CXi, from a POe switch or inline power.

If powered from the CXi, which port?

Has your vendor performed LS trunk settings ( LMT)?
We had this problem as well, because the CO change all the cabling oustide. The new cabling had more impedence and our customers had alot of feedback noise.
I will post a how to on the FAQ for Mitel.
