Is there a way to configure Modular Messaging to look up "External Caller" numbers in an Active Directory Global Address Book?

We've installed a new Enterprise Telephone System (CM5.2 with MM4\Exchange). However, not all of our branches have bought into the idea.

As such, voicemails from employees at the remote branches with standalone systems come into our Modular Messaging as "External Caller". Since this is tied to Active Directory already, I'd like to think there is a way for it to look up the External Caller's number and associate it to a particular person (if it can find an exclusive match, of course).

Any suggestions?

Unfortunately there isn't a way for MM (any version at this point) to do what you are asking. Any Calling Party ID that comes in and doesn't match a number of a subscriber of the system taking the call will be seen as an "External Caller". The only exception to this would be a networked message, using OAN or Avaya Gateway Assist.

Exchange 2007/2010 UM can do this if the number matches someone in your personal contacts or the GAL.
