We use Verizon for Local/Regional calling and ATT for Long Distance. If I call a local/regional external number on Verizon's network, the CID on the far side displays my company's name. If I call someone using Time Warner or Cablevision for their landline the CID on the far end says "Nicole Something Or Other". Any idea why this happens or how I can fix it?

Thanks,

Has to be fix at the Telco level, contact your telco and report it, they in turn, will have to contact the local LEC and they should be contacting any 2ndary vendor if there are any...

That's what I tried. Contacted Verizon and told them of the issue. They told me:

Our caller ID department has advised me that the name we are giving out on your call ID is "Company Name".

We can only control the name given out to Verizon subscribers. Non subscribers are given their information from independent companies over whom we have no control.

It has always been difficult to convince Verizon to do what they are supposed to do, especially in cases like this. It was described to me as typically this would be sent in to a "national database" for the want of a better term, from which the other companies will draw the information and populate their systems. This is not always done as frequently as we would hope, so may end up taking a while to do. You may have more luck talking to the people you are calling and have them talk to their telco and ask them to update.

Under CPN substitution I'm curious if you have anything for Default Voice CPN, which should be the main BTN. Worth a shot.

Always look out for the next guy because it may be you!

It's not Verizon you said they work fine. You need to call TW and Cablevision and report the issue. They probably use a different CNAM database than Verizon uses.
