This customer has a very old partner with about 50 Exts. This is I believe a Partner II. It has the expansion cabinet.

I am tyring toget an ext. to call forward calls to an outside number by using Call Forward to a Personal Speed Dial number like I do with ACS. IT will not work.

Is this possible with the older Partner?

Can any of the Parter Voice Mails allow for direct transfer from a users mailbox. For example "I am away from my desk leave a message or pres "X" and you will be transferred to my cell phone"

Can this be done with a Centrex transfer or a two line call forward?

If not will Partner be releasing any Voice Mail upgrades soon that will support this?

I can do this with Nortel Outbound Transfer NAM v4.0 or later.

All my clients are asking for this ability

Not directly.

The Auto Attendants and submenus of the Partner Messaging modules allow for Centrex Transfer via a Selector Code.

There are 4 AA's available, and an extension can be pointed to an AA.

So, you would set a mailbox's Personal Operator to a phantom extension that is answered by an Auto Attendant, which will give a list of personell with selector codes to transfer to their cell phones.

From the original mailbox, it's "leave a message at the tone, or to reach me on my cell phone, press 0". Pressing ) gets you to "To transfer to Fred Flintstone's cell phone, press 1. For Barney Rubble, press 2. For....."etc.

Is this available with older Partner Mail ( box on the wall ) 3.0?

Yes, give the phantom mailbox a class-of-service that directs it to an Auto Attendant, and you will be good to go.

Only the VS mail R5 (and perhaps R4) offer Centrex transfer, but none of them offer a way to transfer back to an AA)

My AA did not offer me a Centrex Transfer option when I went to set up a selector code.

TTT mentioned that Centrex Transfer was introduced with the Partner Mail VS R4 or R5. I think it was R5. I don't know if the old stand alone Partner Mail offered that feature.

Yup, you're right! VS R5 was the start of Centrex transfer. Looks like you need to upgrade to get what you want. You list a lot of extensions (actually more than a fully loaded PII could supply), so it's time to look at IP Office, or perhaps Legend/Magix. Those can do trunk to trunk transfer, and later release Legend and all Magix can use Centrex forward on an extension, which can be the 0-out from a mailbox, thus eliminating the extra step of picking your user again from a menu.

Sorry to lead you down the wrong path!!

Can I use a Legend or Magix Voice Mail system on an existing Partner system to get these features?

I'd suggest, if VoIP isn't a requirement, going with a Magix.

Avaya discontinued the Magix back in 2006; but there is a ton of high quality refurbished equipment out there looking for good homes.
