The customer call forwards his 3904 desk set to his cell phone. when an outside caller calls his desk set he recieves the customers main billing number on his cell even though his clid is set to display his DID local
He is forwarding a 3904 to a cell phone. He wants the CLID of the 3904 to be seen by the cell phone, but it is seeing the Billing Number instead. If he calls the cell phone directly, he has stated the CLID appears correctly, but not if he forwards to it.
I am looking for the same answer on a DISA.
I call the DISA and then dial out. The called party gets the originating CLID. I want them to get the DISA CLID.
It seems like it would be desireable to present the callerid of the actual caller and not the "relayer" of the call. Why would the latter be preferable?
I think boinker meant the person with the cell phone is seeing his own company's main # when people call his office DID and he has it forwarded to his cell and he actually wants to see his DID. Is that correct? if so I will see if I can find any info to assist you.
i've checked rdr and scaned cdb for a prompt that would modify that and can't, my 81c sends the original callers clid to my cell and it's ld from my switch, but i can't see where it's turned on
I haven't found anything either but I would think that if this guy is call forwarding his phone then his CLID table isn't even recognized, because technically the incoming call is not ringing to his DID. It's bypassing it completely since the phone is forwarded. His CLID table will "work" when he manually calls his cell from his desk/DID because the call is actually originating from his DID. Does that make any sense? In other words, I don't know if you can make this work the way he wants.
Coniglio, maybe he is not using a PRI circuit to forward the call which is why he sees the company's BTN rather than the caller's number. I am at 25.40B, using PRI circuits, and I see the caller's number just fine when I forward the call off-net.
but he doesn't want to see the caller's number. he wants this person to see his own DID. If the guy's number is 555-1234 and he forwards his phone he wants his cell to show the call coming from 555-1234, as opposed to his company's main number, which seems to be what's happening now. Right?
I am losing the thread. When I call a DISA number and then dial out, the receiving party gets my originating CLID, not the CLID from the switch. I want the called party to get switch CLID, not originating CLID.
Keeping it clear, I am using switch PRI, and the called party (through a DISA call) receives my CLID, not the PBX BTN.
If johnpoole is worried it may be time to scream and shout and run about.
The problem we started seeing after the upgrade is as follows:
Call comes in through a PRI to a DID phone that is forwarded to a cell phone and using a PRI to forward the call.
Before Upgrade: The cell phone would see the Caller ID of the parted that called the DID of the forwarded phone.
After Upgrade: We get the main billing DN on the cell phone(only when the phone is forwarded)
When the phone is not forwarded, we see the originating caller ID information.
