I have to submit a quote for a new potential airport client who wants to change his phone system. His needs are: 3 lines, 7 phones, "Multiple Mailboxes", & External Call Forward No Answer and expandable in the future.

I'm planning on using a CICS with Flash or Call Pilot 100.

Can I set it up so that only 1 phone has Appear & Ring (Receptionist I assume) with CFNA directly to a cell phone if not answered?

If so, I assume by using a Destination Coder & Route #. Can this be done with either a Flash or Call Pilot?

Do I need to set the CFNA from the receptionist phone to an unused extention in the equipment room that has the CFNA preset to the external cell phone?

How would you do this?

KSU
External Forward requires 4.1 or up
Allow Redirect under set
Build Route with Dest code (ie 9)
At reception set - Feature 49XXXXXXXXXX
or
FNA - 49XXXXXXXXXX <----somebody here may need to confirm this works on MICS/CICS, I forget but know BCM's will.
Otherwise you may need to do that spare phone trick.

You can setup a Path in CCR to call outbound (Ext Trsf)

Note
If you always forward to the same numbers you can add the phone umber into the Route/s.
Then at reception it would be F4 and Dest code which makes it much easier

I knew about the setup of a Path in CCR to call outbound (Ext Trsf) but from I was told they want it to be automatic so unless I'm told otherwise I assume there will be no AA or CCR set up.

Got ya. *72 is out of the question as they will want it to ring X times before going to the cell if it's not answered...

Then that's not "Automatic" I suppose, voice mail will not do anything for you in this case.

Just had a look at MICS 7.1 manual and does not appear to support CFNA to external number.

BCM50 would work better for that site.

OK. The only BCM50 I have is the one we set up on the work bench, so I'll see what I can do price wise for another one is they accept the quote....just that I have several CICS & MICS sitting here. Thanks for the help...

I just remembered that I had a client that was a diesel motor repair shop...part of a chain of shops here in Quebec. He thought himself as a big shot and wanted to receive all calls to his office phone to be able to be forwarded to his cell whether he was in the shop or elsewhere in the province. I just checked his programming record here in my office.

He had a CICS with 4.1 software & using the internal AA/CCR but no VM. I set up a route & destination (to his cell #).

Turned out that it worked for both internal & external calls & went to his cell when he Forwarded his phone to "59" when it was engaged.

Therefore I figured it should be able to do the same thing in this case using one of the following scenarios:

i) Calls go into a main phone with CFNA to ext in equipment room with desired delay, giving reception a chance to answer. The phone in the equipment Room set up with CFNA to "59", Delay as 2. Calls will then go to ext number. The downside of this one is that "Reception" couldn't have VM. OR
ii) Calls can go into main phone as normal with VM and mailbox. When not being there Forward main phone to phone in equipment room. Lines are either not assigned or Appear only. OR
iii) Can also be setup as a ringing service as well going to phone in equipment room after hours & then be forward externally after 2 rings.

Using ii) or iii) means AA or CCR could be setup as normal with at least 3 rings. Tested & Works here on my CICS system...
