I am asking this on behalf of an NEC administrator, so bear with me.

Is the a way to have extensions starting with with 0 (ex: 01058) and an attendant/operator on an NEC2400 IPX system?

With Avaya and other systems this is possible by using a feature called inter-digit timeout.

Thanks.

The simple answer is yes but why struggle. Give the operator a different access code or use a two digit number 00 for example. that would leave 01X to 09XX useable for extensions.

OzzieGeorge,
Oh how I would prefer not to struggle! We are waiting to hear from the "powers that be" to see if we can change the operator access code as you suggested, but for political and other reasons, that may not be possible.
So for the not so simple answer, can you direct me to the correct manual or command name?

Thanks, your help is much appreciated!

Never done it before but I believe you need Cmd 200 and then see data 823 to 828 in the manual. It will also point you to Cmd 41 Y=0 x=13 for the timer. Good luck.
