Extensions on Analog (type 500) phones 1

I have an analog extension and would like that # to ring on two ports (TN's). With a Digital Port (TN) I would just program the DN to ring on that TN... When I program the extension (DN) on the second TN the first one seems to stop ringing. It does not even get a dial tone. Is it that I cannot have the same DN ring on two different Analog TN's?

that is common practice.. i usually add mcra to the the 1st set.. that removes the party line feature.. they both ring, either can answer but they both can be in use a two calls at the same time
