Extension in use light

I have an IPO where I need to turn on an external light when the user is using the extension (Think on-air light). The phone in this case is a 1616. Anyone have any ideas?

That is an old way of doing things, most systems use wallboards to offer that information now, there may be a third party product available but it will not be tidy or cheap with IP phones

In this case, I have only one extension in the system that needs this functionality so the wallboard is kind of overkill.

Would probably be easier with a 3rd party product if they could switch to a digital phone

little flag that the user raises when they are on the phone and want their quiet time it is after all Friday

There are headsets that have a light on the base that show that they are in use, that might work for you if the base is visible for the people around it
