Hi,
Is it possible to set a single extension to use G.729 Codec for all incoming and outgoing calls (for IXWorkplace and for J series SIP phone both using the same extension no)? if yes the please guide from which CM command.

We are using multiple J series SIP phones in help desk, for recording we are using Mynavoice SIP based machine. Calls are recording ok accept the dialout call going no answer are not recording, i mean if a user dialout a number and the caller wont response then this no answer call not showing in recording machine, as par user it must also record no answers call. can anyone help in this query?

I believe you will need to build a unique ip-network-region and assign a codec specific for G.729. Set the intra-region codecs for G.729, too. Use your existing location for this region to use the existing ARS analysis and dialing rules. In the IP-network-map, assign the ip address for your one phone to the new network region.

That may be problematic since you will very likely have to split up an existing range.

An alternative is to create a new location and assign that to your G729 ip-network-region. Now you can go to the Station form and assign the location directly without having to mess around with the network-map. You'll have to set up your ARS analysis for this new location but there's always a trade-off in approaches.

What makes you think that the use of G729 is causing the failure to record? If the outgoing call is not answered, what is there to record?

The users wants to show the unanswered call data to management to assure them that they are calling out customers. The Mynavoice Tech is saying that we are receiving the G729 codec from Avaya extension and it should be G711.
