Extension Billing

I have a client of mine with a small office, they now have a tenant piggybacking off the phone switch in there (avaya 403DS 3.2(67)) What is the best way to do extension billing for them? does avaya have a plugin?
 
You need to install Delta server from the Admin disc (in the CBC folder) read the manual on how to do this, and that will give you basic call accounting i.e who called what number when, for more in depth call accounting you will need third party software which works with delta server, we use Proteus and Oak for this :)

Using the third party software will allow you to program your price plan into it and produce accurate reports including costs. Delta server wont do this for you.

Some providers offer extn billing on the lines but its usually crap.

what is the best of those two and what sort of costs are you looking at? they only have 6 extensions
 
Where are you based?

Delta server provides the data from the phone system. it can be read raw, but to create reports that can include pricing and are more readable, you need oak or similar.

Oak aioffice is a good basic program
For oak you do not need the deltaserver because the ipoffice can provide the smdr itself
But it could be possible that you need to upgrad ethe small office for that

based in edinburgh. I have installed the delta server which is working fine and i can see the log file being created. I take it I cn just import this into excel or something and do it that way? obviously a specific application would be easier but it all comes down to cost.

it will not be worth spending $1000 or more on a call accounting system,take the Delta server output (SMDR.csv) open it in Excell and sort it by the extension you want to bill then hope that you have a uniform price plan for all long distance and just multiply the minutes by the cost you have otherwise you need more time to make sense out of this then it is worth billing for. You need to sort it by the right column though so you don't bill for the incoming calls.

no worries.

you can read it in excel and it will tell you what extns made what calls, you will have to calculate the costs yourself based on price plans, will be a bit longwinded giving different rates for local/ mobile calls even for 6 extns. But it will do what you want, just a little bit more work involved.
