Hi,

At the moment if a user/extension is logged in on one phone and then those details are then input on another phone to login (i.e. they forgot to log out), the original phone is logged out.

Is there a way to stop this auto log out of the original phone and the new phone stopped from being logged in?

Thanks in advance,

Don't give them a login code.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

From what you have written it sounds to me like the bigger issue is why are end users changing base extensions?

Hi,

It wasn't the base extension it was the user on the base. I had set it up so the users always remained logged in, to save them doing it as we don't hot desk.

However in one of the offices they wanted to log phones out otherwise the hunt group would ring when others were on the phone and the desks were free.

The work around for that was to log the user off if not there, but I didn't want them accidentally logging other users off - obviously if the above isn't possible, then they just have different passwords to stop it, but I know that'll result in people forgetting them and having to keep on top of it.

I've gone with the different password route for that office now.

Thanks

The question then that needs to be asked is why is someone trying to login with someone else's extension?

My extension is 4713 and my colleagues is 4717, when I log myself in as 4713 I don't ever log out my colleague on 4717 as I am logging in as me and not him!

Because people in offices make mistakes. New system, don't know new extension etc. It's a perfectly feesible problem, but obviously one that doesn't exist if the passwords are all different.
