is it possible to extend the existing netware partion ( consists of sys, vol1, vol2 )
the above volumes exist in a netware partion of 4.3GB , of 9GB harddisk, how to extend the vol1 and vol2 as to utilise the remaining free space left(4.7GB)in the same hard disk

I get mixed up between 4 and 5, but it works one of these ways.

1) under volumes in nwconfig or install press insert and it will ask you if part of existing volume or a new one and you would select existing.

or

2) I think you have to dismount volume first andf then when you have the volume that you want in install press insert.

HI!

I know of 2 ways:

* There was a product called Norton Ghost for Netware from Symantec.
They are now going to include it in the next version of Ghost, but I don't know the current status of it.
Anyway this product if available now can do the job.

* Since I had problems getting Ghost for Netware, I have done it this way:
1) Make sure you have a perfect and current backup.
2) Make sure you have Netware and Backup program disks, licenses etc.
3) Make sure you have all drivers and configuration settings.
4) Plan for server downtime (at least 6 hours, but prepare for more...).
5) Delete all partitions from Hard Disk, Reinstall Netware, Reinstall backup program using advanced setup to create the desired Volumes conigurations.
6) Restore NDS and then all volumes.

It worked for me.
If you're not sure, you may try this process on a different testing hard drive, and then on the original after you know what to do.

Bye
