Hi can anyone shed some light on this. I am using powerchute business edition and i get this error every morning

"PowerChute Business Edition has detected the following event: Extended Overvoltage"

I have checked and everything seems ok I cant find any relevant reference to it on the APC site.

Thanks in Advance

I'm surmising that message means that the UPS is measuring the incoming line voltage as above the appropriate "nominal" value.

This would indicate that somewhere a stepdown transformer is supplying the overvoltage. It could either be the power utility's transformer if your a very small building with just "residential" type service, or a private transformer if you're supplied with a higher voltage from the utility.

I would contact the utility, let them know the situation, and find out which type of service you have. If its a non-residential type, then the problem is most likely a private, internal stepdown transformer and you'll then need to contact an electrician.
