Extended Description

Hi All,

Good Morning. We have a problem with importing Extended Descritpions into MAS200.


Using the file: IM.ITEMEXT
We have the following fields:
Item Number: Data Type "Text"
Seq_Number: Number stored as Text eg: 000 , 001, 002
Comment Size: Number stored as text eg: 0031, 0056
Comment Text: Text

We are able to import by using Visual Integrator but the probelm is it not updated into the system. Import process is successful but the data is not importing into the system.

We have this format:

Item Number Seq Number Comment Size Comment Text
ABCD 000 0035
ABCD 001 ABCD FOR ITEM1XXX

MNOP 000 0056
001 MNOP FOR ITEM2XXXX
002 XXXXXX



Can someone help us whats happening with the import?

There is a field in the Im1 table called I think ExtendedDescription. It is a simple Yes or No field, text Y or N.

When you add the extended description to the table, you have to set that field for the item as Yes, or Mas won't behave as there is anything there.
