Has anybody extended an ASU or ASUII over fiber? Any issue if so?

The Engineering Guide limits the distance for ASU's to 30m

Can you extend beyond this, maybe, but you're on your own support wise.

I'm looking for an out of box solution, we need to get to an out building without replacing the 200 ICP w/ a 3300 for SIP gateways.

On a 200/3300 you can put a peripheral node over fiber up to 14K away.

More expensive than an ASU, but supported.

Were replacing spines with IP sets and need 8 ONS ports in (2) buildings. the per cabinets are pushing this beyond the price of a 3300, the 3300 pushes the job out to RFP for anything.

Assuming these are for faxes and modems you are probably hooped.

If used for Voice only, there might be other options.

You can use the supported SIP to Analogue gateways that Mitel support. mediatrix, Audicodes and Multitech?

That is the standard way in IP T these days

Mitelmatt,

I would be surprised if Mitel supports FAX or Modem over SIP to analog conversion.

actually they do! T38 over SIP trunks to Gateway was put in R9.

That was one of the key drivers for the T38 implementation.

There is many many to get analogue at remote sites.

If your not happy with sip trunks direct from the mitel to the gateway at remote site, then use a pair of gateways. One at head end and one at the remote end. It's called Satalite Office. Mitel has loads of info in there help files about it.

Always a solution ;;))

Sorry Matt, we're speaking about the SX200 here. The customer is trying to avoid a 3300 upgrade.

T38 via SIP on a 200 is not supported to my knowledge.

Good try though.
