Extend Fiber Feed

Looking to extend a 6 strand fiber from the buildings entrance to a new MDF room that is being built about 100ft away.
The customer doesnt want to pull new fiber or splice the fiber.
I was thinking of putting in a wall mount fiber cabinet and then push the fiber to the new location on some type of Fiber to Cat5e/Cat6 module?
Or I could install a 100ft patch cable, but could add some loss?

Any suggestions on a specific Modulator or another way to make this happen?

Thanks!

Premade fiber jumpers is an easy way to do this. You need to look at the equipment this will terminate to, if they are fiber interfaces, then you use a converter, you will have to convert it back again to connect to the hardware, if you use copper. A lot more expensive than buying a few fiber jumpers.

I agree with trvlr1, by the time you purchase the converters and run cable, you can get a pre-terminated fiber jumper 100' long for less $. It will be significantly more reliable as well.

your probally gonna have to break down all the cost for your customer and also find out what equipment they will feeding in the mdf and how many strands will they be using at one time and what thier future plans are.

if they will only be using one or two pairs and the rest are spares and they are using a low end Routers/swith that doesn't support fiber ports then a media converter and cat 5 is ok only one converter needed. the cat 5 can feed the equipment. ( least favorite but works, customer looses speed which today is usally very important but you get what you pay for)

if the same conditions apply but the equipment is fiber compatible and the customer want the extra speed of fiber. the single jumpers are ok but I would also include some form of interduct for protection. ( ok for one or two stands but doesnt offer any future proofing. adding more jumpers in the future could be difficult and risk damaging working jumpers)

Best solution I would use a preterminated 6 strand fiber ( double check mesauremnts as an old boss use to say about big copper order it long and your wrong order it short and your gone).
it gives them the full functionality of fiber and no need to worry about future adds.

either way your loss would be minimal. you said the fiber is by the building entrance. is that the demarc point where it enters the buiding from the Service provider. if so I would think your link loss budget will be fine no matter which option you choose.
