I had to install a new 016 board in a Merlin Magix system and rebooted to bring back the programming. Now for some reason when you try to use intercomm (Ext Ring) from any extension it rings in on Ext Voice on the extension you are calling. Plus the Ext Ring function had a unique ring when it was dialed but now it rings like all incoming calls. I'm thinking that I may need to disable Voice Announcement to bring back the Ext Ring but am unable to find where to turn that on or off. The OCC Operator function is not working either.

You don't have a problem with your intercoms - that's the design. You have an two origination choices, voice or ring. Both arrive at the intercom destination on the voice button.
If you need to re-establish personnal ring tones, you accomplish this from your display programming on your extension. you do not need to disable the voice announce feature.

When you replace a board, you need to preform a board renumber after the system reboots.

OCC Operator Function? Can you elaborate?

Sorry, my mistake that should have read QCC Operator function not OCC. Any help on setting the distinctive ring for the intercomm would be appreciated. Right incoming calls and intercom calls have the same ring pattern.
Thanks in advance.

Inside calls (intercom) and outside calls are designed to ring differently and are distinctive so the user can identify audibly what type of call they are recieving. It maybe they are not aware of the patterns. Transferred calls, are also distinctive. Also the display will acknowledge what type of call it is. You might be able to demo the different patterns to your client in less than a minute if they are not hostile.

Are you referring to the DSS adjunct on the console that is not operating correctly? the most common cause is the cleaning people switch the DSS over to message waiting. To be the hero, just touch the button above it to go back into DSS mode.

Wikitech, that's the problem. Incoming and intercom calls were ringing differently before on all the phones but now have the same ring pattern. I need to set them back to the different ring paterns so the users can tell what type of call is coming in. I do not have a QCC console so there's no button to push to go into the DSS mode. What exactly is the DSS mode ?

Page 721 of the manual:
Distinctive Ringing

Distinctive ringing allows users to identify the type or origin of an incoming call. The system
identifies calls with the distinctive ringing patterns listed in Table 45. These patterns cannot be
changed.

The long ring is the personalized ringing pattern selected for the telephone.

Inside: 1 Long Ring
Transfered Outside Call or Returning Transfer: 1 Long Ring + 2 Short Rings
Returning Callback Call (Priority Ring): 1 Long Ring + 3 Short Rings

Touchtone, The patterns cannot be changed for inside calls but the incoming and intercom rings can be changed to sound the same. My incoming calls are one long ring and intercomm use to be one long and then one short ring. Now all the calls ring one long ring or if I can the ring patterns via the personalized ring all calls will sound like that.
Would adding all the phones to group calling possibly cause all calls to ring the same ? Someone was asking if all the phones had been added to a Hunt Group but I thought Hunt Groups were in the Partner programming features.

Do a print on an extension with the problem, see what groups it is a member of, then print the groups. I know that being in a voicemail calling group can change things around, including making internal dial tone sound like outside dial tone, and perhaps changing the ringing from double-ring to single ring.

Everyone, finally got it working. Turned out to be something as simple as using - Feature 00 then *32 then backed out. I thought I would have to do that on each phone to get it working but found out that setting it on one phone sets all the phones. The intercom ring is set at the factory but you can change the incoming call ring to 8 different patterns so guess which ring tone the users would like to have changed now ? Yup, the one that is not changeable. It never ends. Thanks to all for your help and suggestions.
