Does anyone have detailed information on how to extract data from InDesign to XML?

We currently use Quark with a plugin from Easy Press technologies ( that goes through the quark document and tags all content based on stylesheets and formats it according to a DTD.

The advantage of this program is that it also allows the extraction of meta data from quark (ie. font sizes, styles, file locations for graphics etc). For example, In tables, I would like to know what styles some of the rows are without having to tag them differently in the xml. So there could be just one <tablerow> tag that has a style attribute instead of having to have <tablerowitalic>, <tablerowbold> etc.

I want to move to Indesign but I need to be able to extract more than just the content to xml. Is this possible? Also, is it possible to do this without having to manually tag content??

Has any one had experience using the XML export tool like this?
