When export a report created in Crystal 8.0 to Microsoft Word the data becomes "garbled". Also all of the lines are eliminated by the exportation. Suggestions on remmedying this problem are greatly appreciated.

Check the dll you're using to export to Word.

To best preserve the .rpt design format, you should be using Word (Exact) export.

The dll which gives you this 'exact' option is crxf_wordw.dll. Do a search on your system for it. If you don't have it, you can download it from where it's stored in crxf_wordw.zip.

Exports to Word usually get garbled. You could try Excel, though this can also make a dogs' dinner out of a neat little report.

If you try Excel and it works no better, look on this forum for tips to improve it.

Another solution if you want a 'hard copy' to distribute electronically is PFD/Acrobat, if your system has it. Software to read this format can be downloaded for free, and Crystal will export in PDF format without losing anything. Madawc Williams
