Hi,

I've installed CR8, and noticed in the help file that one of the available report export formats is PDF.

When I use the export command to export my report, there isn't a PDF option.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

I am doing it in CR 4.6 and I have to use code to do it
You will need Adobe Acrobat Distiller Printer and its port set to "FILE"
I first print my files to the Acrobat Distiller Printer and code in vb sets the Printerport to the path Now the PS files are created
then set a reference to the distiller and create a new distiller object and do a filetoPdf
if this is the way you want to go send me an email and i can help you do it

The export feature PDF made it in to the documentation but not the build for v8.
It can be downloaded now from the seagatesoftware.com site.
When I last looked at it a couple of months ago, it was beta, but that may have changed. Anyone out there using it? Malcolm

November is "be kind to dogs and programmers" month. Or is that "dogs or programmers"?

Thanks Anuc and Malcolm.

I went to the Seagate web site and downloaded the export feature. It's still a BETA version. I installed it and tried it out on a few reports, seems to work fine.

Thanks again!

When you created you Pdf file were you able to print it from Acrobat?. My report exports perfectly but the print button disapears from Acrobat. Basically, I can view it but not print it.

Anyone else have this problem?

I have downloaded the export feature from Seagates website and followed the instructions in the read-me file and when I try to export to PDF Format I get a message saying that it failed. Any ideas on how to get this to work?

Thanks

Strom99,

I downloaded it & it worked fine (except for a few printing issues).

Is it just an ordinary report.... what version of Crystal are you using?

I'm now using this latest driver and it appears to work fine.... however, when trying to print to certain HP printers it doesn't actually print anything....

Anyone else have this problem? The printer in question is a HP Laserjet 8000 DN

We wrote our own PDF export for use over the internet, and one of our customers complained about the same printer, let me know if you come up with any ideas.
