We use the Crystal 11 and the Java Reporting Component to run our reports and then export them to PDF. The generated PDFs are dropping many of the dollar signs, adding commas to number fields, and turning non-currency numbers into two decimal place currency type fields.

Anyone have any thoughts? Is there another forum this question is better for?

Hi there,

Is it just when exporting to PDF that your experiencing your problems or is it the same if you export to word/excel?

Also which version of Acrobat are you using?

Also have you tried exporting it directly out of Crystal? Does this give you the same problems?

I've had many a trouble with exporting to PDF, in my case though it was to do with lines and boxes either moving out of position or over lapping, both ways though made the report look a complete mess.

Thanks for the response.

The Java Reporting Component will only export to PDF or RTF. RTFs seem to be fine.

Am using Adobe Reader 7.0, and the exported reports are brought up in a browser window using an Adobe plugin.

Exporting directly out of Crystal does not give me these problems, so it appears to be a Java Reporting Component issue.
