If I have a pagemaker file in which I have placed some graphics (tables from excel, placed in powerpoint and then copied and pasted to pagemaker), how can I retain the original color of the graphic while exporting to PDF. Whats happening with me is that the pdf created has the tables with shades of grey instead of the actual color.
Thanks

1661,

What happens when you save to file, then distill separately? Make sure you have printer PPD options set up to not replace color with grayscale.

has a free utility that seems to eliminate alot of Adobe's grudging inclusion of tables and such. It acts like a printer option and creates a PDF in one step. In fact, you could use it to create a PDF from Excel or Powerpoint, or any app, and then place that PDF into a PM doc, as a workaround.

I would recommend you avoid any microsoft graphic. First they are all RGB, not CMYK. For PM documents, it is recommended that one use only TIFF or EPS graphics, especially if the doc is to be converted to PDF. When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.
