Exporting to Excel 1

Does anyone know how to control the format of an Excel spreadsheet. I have a program that creates a report on production information at a packing plant. I would like to export the info directly into excel but I would like to format the spreadsheet instead of just exporting the table.
I would be grateful for any advice.
