Exporting to Excel - fields missing

I have a report in 8.5 which has data from the main report and two subreports running in "details" each supplying 4 calculated fields.

When I export the data, the second subreport seems to overwrite the first.

Anyone help?

I know this sounds trivial.. but it fixed one that I had that did this..

My guess is that the layout has the two subreports side by side. If you place a blank text box inbetween the two subreports (completely inbetween, no overlay). It should help the problem.

Seems logical to me but didn't work on my report.

Maybe you have an out-of-date version of the export dlls.
If it says MS Excel 97-2000 then you have the latest stuff, otherwise contact Crystal and arrange to get your system updated. The difference is striking.

In 8.5 I had lots of problems with excel exports "looking" okay. Basicly these were my "steps" to make them look right.

1. Always use Grids and guidelines (snap to grid), anchor every field both vertically and horizontally.
2. Start from top left and work fields from left to right top down to get them placed correctly on the export.
3. Don't allow any fields to overlap.
4. Remember, all of the fields on the report (and subreports) export so you can't "hide" fields beyond the left margin, expecially when "shrinking" subreports.
5. Sometimes all it takes to make a field start working correctly is a "wiggle"... test often

Eventually you will get it work right. It will probably be some silly thing that makes it start working. I got one to start working by deleting the field that was causing problems and reinserting it.. making it the exact same size it was before.. go figure.

Its all trial.. and lots of error.

And when you upgrade to 9.. you will have to do it all over again.
