When I try and export a crystal report to text. Here are the steps
Format: Text
Destination: Disk File
Export to Text:
Characters Per Inch = 12
Number of lines per page = 60

save type is paginated text
When I run the report, I get the results however the columns are not separated by tab or anything. Part of the column names are cut off. Do I need to move the column names over physically shoe the entire names show on the report on the crystal side?

sample output
ID NAME Addr
01 Jer 120 Mar

What are you trying to get? Export to 'Text' usually gives you something simialr to the printed report, though never quite.

If you want comma-delimited data, you can get that by putthing all of the data into a single large field with commas between the values. And setting the font to 'Courier'.

You might also get a better result with a higher value for 'Characters per Inch'. I've had that before.

It helps to give your Crystal version - 8, 8.5, 9, 10, 11 or whatever. Methods sometimes change between versions, and higher versions have extra options. In this case, it probably makes no difference.
