that sounds good, but how do i set up the ODBC? I do want to be able to add fields to the access table that holds the mail and do actually want to make a copy of the mail that I'm importing. will i still be able to do this...?
In XP you find the ODBC Data Sources tool under Programs/Admin Tools.
Fom there the exact procedure is a bit foggy for the moment. I'll get back to you as soon as I have something.
As for adding fields, I guess you can do that on the Access side. You might even be able to upload your changes, but don't expect to be able to see the additional fields in Notes.
no you don't need NotesSQL in order to have an ODBC connection. I write data to an AS400 via the normal ODBC connection and I don't think it's any different to an Access database.
If you're interested in a Notes/Domino tool which exports Notes documents and views to the following formats:
* Access
* Excel
* XML
* CSV
* Word / RTF
