Exporting text from CS2

Hello everyone,
I'm having the same problem as Hawkster27 (thread818-870669), only in CS2 instead of CS. I'm not getting the option to select rtf or text only formats when trying to export text. Last I read, Hawkster27 was off to reinstall. Did that work?

Do you have the text cursor blinking in the text frame you want to export?

Unless teh cursoe is active you won't be able to export that story to rtf or txt.

That's where I started, just like I used to in CS1. Still a no go.

I'm still on CS1. Try the Help menu and search for "text export" and see what it says.

Thanks for the suggestions. I decided to take the time and do a reinstall. I followed the precise directions (found on installation disc 1) to uninstall the Creative Suite 2 applications and support resources. Reinstalled the software (took about 20 minutes). Everything is back and working fine. Not sure what caused the problem in the first place. Anyway, hope it doesn't happen again.

Instead of uninstalling the whole lot, would trashing/resetting preferences been easier?

May well have been. Unfortunately I didn't think of that. If this problem arises again I will definitely try that first.
