Hi

I am trying to export a table in Microsoft Access as an xml file but I need to put the predefined structure in the xml file and not in a separate file. This is required as the application that uploads the XML file requires it all to be in the same file. The ultimate goal is that end users can export from access and then upload the XML file straight into a different application.

I haven't used XML before so I am not very certain of the terminology.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks for your assistance.

Hihglight the relevant table in the database window. Then click File, Export. In the resultant dialog box, select XML as the 'Save as Type' parameter and specify where you want to output the file to. Then click OK.

There then follows a little wizard for the XML export, which includes an "Advanced..." button in one of the dialogs. This lets you specify where you want the schema to come from, and if you want to embned it in the XML document itself.

Hope this helps.
