Hi
I have sqlServer running on server and have a database, which I want to used it with MSDE on other pc.

I copied database file from sql and placed it on MSDE/Data dirctory.

For some reason, MSDE doesn't seen to find this database.

Please could help with my problem.

Many thank

What files did you copy? If you copied the MDF and LDF, then maybe you have not attached the DBs yet. You may need to run attach database in Enterprise Manager(EM) or execute the sp_attach_db command in Query Analyzer(QA).

SQL Server will not "auto-detect" a new DB if you only move files into a directory.

You may be also dealing with a backup file if the extension of the file you copied was a .bak

You would then need to restore the backup file in EM or QA.

Thanks
