Hi All,

I have a report in SSRS that replicates a form that is used by our database users, it needs to mimic as closely as possible with textboxes that are ediatble once exported to word. it all looks fine until it is exported - word seems to render the report oddly and adds space between textboxes that are quite tight on the report, adds line wraps in the textboxes, and generally moves things around.

Is there a way of giving in item absolute positioning? I have also set each text box to not grow or shrink, but still i get the extra lines in them. I can only assume that the data pulled back is causing the line wrap - i havent been able to get Rtrim to work as i have 3 different datasets and cant specify which with this bit of code (or can i? help!)

please can someone advise!!

Many thanks

Nicola

Hi Guys
additional to this, i have also removed the padding that seems to be added by default to textboxes - now set to 0pt for all settings, and i have created a blank report with no datasource, therefore no possibility of the data causing the line wrap - my report STILL manages to alter the textbox sixes when it is exported to Word....

Please help!

Hia,

many thanks for this - although it doesnt fix it it at least means im not imagining it, lol!

I noticed that my report does this even before i add placeholders... will see if i can add that to the bug case

Thanks again

To add to my last comment - i commented on the post from the link supplied by DaveInIowa and since got a response that there is a service park released that is to cure the bug - Service Pack 2.

I'm in the process of requesting it to be installed on our system (unfortunalty i work on a hosted system - i know what needs to be done but getting it through all the appropriate persons is a nightmare!!). Hopefully i can test that it works soon!
