I am sorry if this has been posted already I did try to look. Anyways I have groupwide edition 6 on my comp. Is there anyway to set it up so that when my groupwise account gets an e-mail I can have it sending to my yahoo account as well????? THanks
Go to Tools > Rules. Set up a new rule, give it any name you like. Leave the 'conditions' section alone. At the bottom of the screen, Add an Action. From the dropdown, select Forward. Enter your Yahoo address and any Subject Line addition you may want.
Viola!

another twist on this is to use the "delegate" option instead of forwarding in your rule. Delegate is supposed to keep the original sender info intact where forward will replace it with your groupwise ID as the sender. On some versions of GW I beleive you also have to throw a /flatforward=yes switch on the GWIA? I forget.. Delegate should work on its own though.
Thank you for your help. I figured out what anotherhiggins was telling me but itsmyfault I am not sure how to go about doing what you are explaining. I would like to keep the original message intact instead of what happens when it is forwarded.
All ITsmyfault is saying is to substitute Delegate for Forward in the rule outlined in anotherhiggins post. The /flatforward=yes is a switch I am not familiar with. And it does not show up in my list of switches for GWIA v5.2 - 6.5. Have a good one!
FarOut - you're correct - the switch is actually /flatfwd and is for the GWIA. This is supposed to maintain the original header info on the email. This only works on external emails.
- And thanks for the clarification on what I meant! I don't always explain things clearly.. appreciate the help.
I have seen it mentioned being used in conjunction with delegating where folks want their mail sent to an alternate account but want to maintain the info on who sent it etc.
From Novell's site:
"/flatfwd
Automatically strips out the empty messages that accumulate when a message is forwarded multiple times.
I'm just glad I learned something today ITsmyfault. You deliver some great answers to questions here on Tek-Tips that I have used myself, so I thank you. Have a good one!
I have been using the /flatfwd switch for a few years now. It works great. However, one thing that you need to remember is that whenever you install a SP or upgrade, the GWIA.CFG file is rewritten. So, don't forget to go back into the new config file and add the "/flatfwd" switch.

It's just the /flatfwd switch. But remember, if you add any text to the "forward", it negates the /flatfwd switch. GWIA will only strip the GroupWise headers if YOUR message (the forward) is left blank.
