Exporting pst files

I would like to export the data in shared contacts in a public folder on a server and put the info into a database to be able to compare it to the correct email addresses on my database. At the moment I am having to compare them one by one and it is very time consuming.

I would like to know if it is possible to export the pst file which contains all the shared contacts, please? I have not been able to find the location on the server, and am wondering if I am looking for the right type of file.

Open OL and under the file tab select import/export > export to a file > and select from menu what type of file you it exported as > you will be prompted to select what you want to export > select your shared contacts file > ok

I can't assist with where on the server this exists as it could have been set to be in many palces. But it might help to look for *.wab. If you select excel as the file type you will be presented with the OL tree and assuming that you have this normally displayed in your OL you can select it without knowing it's precise location.

If you're using Public Folders, then I assume you are using Exchange. So there are no PST files.

Also, I don't think you can export Shared contacts using File->Import/Export. What you can do is create a new Contacts folder in your mailbox, select-all and copy all contacts from the public folder and paste into your new Contacts folder, then export that.

Alternatively, write a script that'll grab your public folder contact details.
