exporting problem in RDC component of crystal reports 8

I have developed a software in vb6 and crystal reports. I am using rdc component that came with crystal report 8. But i cant't use the export feature of this. When i try to export a report to word or some other media then it stops responding. I had made the reports in crystal reports 7.
If anybody has a solution to this plz infom me.

How are you calling the export? Do you set the export options in code or with Crystals GUI? Does the export work from crystal if you don't go through VB?

I've made this work to some extent, never had it stop responding. However, the supression logic is sometimes lost.
