I'm new to Adobe Illustrator and I need some help with exporting gradient meshes to Flash. I'm doing something wrong because when I export the Illustrator document as an SWF and then import it in Flash, it's no longer a vector image, but a bitmap, which will not be suitable for the website I'm working on. Thank you very much in advance!

hmm, im not so hot on flash but can you not directly paste from Ai to Flash and instruct to "keep illustrator formating" or some such command?

...gradient meshes aren't supported by flash 9 or below...

...if they were then you could create gradient meshes in flash too, as flash doesn't compute gradient meshes, the only workaround thus far is for flash to interpret into a bitmap...

...may be in flash 10?

Thank you very much! I was using Flash 8, so that's the problem. I will have to think of moving to a newer version.

...yes, when i say flash 10, that version is yet to exist...

...flash 9, the latest, doesn't support gradient mesh import either...

...until adobe release a later version than 9, gradient mesh will always be a bitmap...
